The Harlequin Cafe
The quintessentially British Harlequin Cafe is another of Shepton Mallet’s secrets. From the panelled walls and Her Majesty’s Coronation mugs to the delicious homemade food and great selection of cakes and drinks, it’s the perfect antidote to winter, for a light lunch, afternoon tea or just a break to warm yourself beside the roaring log fire.

Everything on the menu is organic, locally produced or both, with spelt at the heart of the kitchen. Our focus is on seasonal food, in keeping with our eco and sustainable ethos. The simple menu usually includes a speltotto (Hugh Fairnley-Whittingstall’s name for a risotto made out of spelt),
organic meat from Sharpham Park and an enticing choice of sweet things made using spelt. Just click the link below to see a sample of our daily fayre.
The cafe is open every day, starting at 9am and finishing at 5pm.
